The Certified Cardiology Coder plays a critical role in accurately translating cardiology medical records into standardized codes used for billing and documentation. This position requires expertise in cardiology procedures and coding standards to ensure compliance and data integrity. The coder works closely with clinicians and utilizes specific coding software alongside manual coding processes to support effective claims processing and reporting.

Required Qualifications
This position is responsible for patient triage and implementation of nursing processes and patient care including but not limited to patient education regarding medications, disease process and etiology including risk factors that can be modified by patient.
Job Duties include but are not limited to:
1.\tResponsible for obtaining precise, detailed information regarding patient symptoms, current medications in order to assist the Physician in responding to patient needs.
2.\tImplement Physician instructions
3.\tCall in patient medication refills
4.\tProvide patients with instructions and information regarding diet, disease process, disease management, modification risk factors, and verbal instructions on new medication/and or changes in medication.
5.\tResponsible to inform patients of medication orders, lab results, text results and any other information directed by physician
6.\tOrder tests as directed by physician
7.\tMonitor anti coagulation therapies to ensure patient safety and compliance.
8.\tAct as liaison between physician and outside specialty groups/internal facilities.
9.\tResponsible for updating patient medications in computer prior to office visits.
10.\tProjects assigned by physicians as needed
Qualifications:
1.\tMust be currently licensed as a Registered Nurse
2.\t2-4 years experience as a Nurse. Experience in Cardiology a plus
3.\tAssociates Degree and Successful completion of Nursing Program or/ Bachelors Degree and completion of Nursing Program.
4.\tBasic Knowledge in the Microsoft environment
5.\tAbility to read EKG (basic rhythms)
