Remote OP Facility Coder Location: Remote office Santa Fe, NM 87501 Compensation: Pay Range: Minimum Offer $22.79 Maximum Offer $38.80 Type: Full time Job Exempt: No Work Shift: Varied Days and Hours (United States of America) Responsibilities Code inpatient, outpatient, ED, Home Health & Hospice records and professional fee services for PMG specialty providers, using ICD‑9/10 CM and CPT‑4 classification system. Ensure adherence to Hospital and Departmental Policies and Procedures. Review patients’ current medical records, assigning appropriate CPT, ICD, and MS‑DRG codes in accordance with UHDDS guidelines and CMS, to support financial reimbursement and research. Research medical records via multiple systems to complete coding promptly. Take responsibility for accounts receivable by locating missing documents and generating appropriate queries. Maintain up‑to‑date technical knowledge of legal and regulatory information (ICD‑9/10 CM, CPT‑4, HCPCS, DRG, APC, HHRG updates). Resolve pre‑bill edits, denials, and other payment issues for assigned accounts. Participate in departmental in‑services and updates to stay current with coding guidelines. Communicate issues to the EW Clinical Coding Manager as appropriate. Maintain at least a 95% accuracy rate and meet productivity standards set by PHS. Maintain Continuing Education (CE) requirements per PHS policy. Perform other functions as required. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Possess one of the following coding certifications at hire: HCS‑D, CCS, CCS‑P, CPC‑H, or RHIT/RHIA, with attainment within one year of hire. Three to five years of coding experience required; inpatient coding experience preferred.
