Key Responsibilities Integrate Huron’s Vision and Values into daily work practices. Conduct audits of coders and auditors, ensuring a minimum coding accuracy of 95%. Perform quality checks on visits coded per client SOPs and conduct calibration audits. Suggest process improvements and schedule calibration sessions with offshore team counterparts and leaders. Assist in preparing audit reports, provide direct feedback to coders and auditors, and participate in client and internal stakeholder meetings. Monitor compliance with clinical documentation and coding guidelines; ensure errors are corrected before claims are rebilled to payers. Analyze findings and present concise, actionable summaries to leadership. Utilize encoder software applications (3M/Solventum, Encoder Pro, Codify) and assign appropriate codes using CDC, CMS, AMA, AHA, AMA CPT, and other guidelines. Navigate patient health records and other systems to determine accurate diagnosis and procedure codes. Meet coding auditing productivity standards for ambulatory coding and maintain high professional and ethical standards. Continuously update coding knowledge through meetings, conferences, and CEU maintenance. Ensure patient information and signatures are correct and complete, and employ proper query practices with physicians, CDS and other providers. Track missing documentation with EMR communication tools, follow up on ambulatory queries, and facilitate timely coding. Collaborate with HIM and PFS teams to resolve billing, claims denial and appeals issues affecting reimbursement. Identify and solve coding and EMR workflow issues, notifying leadership when necessary. Maintain awareness of coding, reimbursement, and ethical regulations, code of ethics, and relevant policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. Core Qualifications Current permanent United States work authorization. Experience in coding specialties such as E/M, oncology, acute, ambulatory, cardiology, radiology, pathology, anesthesia, emergency room, surgery, and related fields. Minimum 2 years experience as a professional/profee/ambulatory coding auditor. Minimum 3 years experience coding professional/profee/ambulatory accounts. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio, SharePoint). Strong analytical, problem‑solving, quantitative, and workflow process skills. Detail‑oriented with excellent follow‑up, follow‑through, and time‑management skills. Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple tasks in a deadline‑driven environment, and use discretion and judgements. Professional communication skills with internal and external customers. Rapid ramp‑up ability on client environments, processes, historical context, and systems. Financial acumen and analytical skills for revenue cycle analysis. Experience with multiple data sources and familiarity with revenue cycle systems. Team‑oriented, partnership mindset. Adaptability to change, self‑motivation, and strong oral and written communication skills. Physical Demands Remaining seated at a desk/computer for 8 hours daily; repetitive use of keyboard and mouse; use of monitors for 8 hours daily; video/audio conference calls and occasional headset use; occasional lifting up to 20 pounds and bending/standing for periods. Technical Qualifications Required Certification: Certified Professional Coder (CPC) through AAPC. Preferred Certifications: AAPC CPMA, RHIA. Preferred encoder experience (3M/Solventum, Encoder Pro, Codify). Preferred experience with Epic, Cerner, Meditech. Key Performance Indicators Coding Auditing Productivity: 95% or higher. Coding Auditing Accuracy: 95% or higher. Salary and Benefits The estimated pay range for this role is $26.44 to $37.50 per hour.
