Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Medical Biller to join our team in Valley Stream, NY. The ideal candidate will have prior skilled nursing facility billing experience and a strong understanding of insurance claims processing, collections, and reimbursement workflows. This position offers continued growth opportunities within a fast-paced skilled nursing facility environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review, prepare, and submit claims to Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, and commercial insurance plans
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims and resolve billing issues timely
- Verify insurance coverage and benefits
- Post payments and maintain accurate resident account records
- Work aging reports and assist with collections efforts
- Communicate with insurance payers, facility staff, and internal departments regarding claim status and account resolution
- Maintain accurate documentation and billing notes
Qualifications:
- Previous skilled nursing facility billing experience required
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and managed care billing processes
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multitask and work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with PointClickCare (PCC) preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel
