Clive Behavioral Health is a 100‑bed, stand‑alone mental health hospital and also offers intensive outpatient programming (IOP) for adolescents aged 13 to 17 and a substance use disorder intensive outpatient program for adults called First Step Recovery. Our goal with all of our programs is to help people reach the highest quality of life. Responsibilities The Health Information (Coder) participates as an integral member of the records management team by ensuring the quality maintenance of patient information/medical records, within all laws, rules and regulations of federal and state licensing agencies, and TJC standards for the quality of patient care. The Health Information Coder has the primary responsibility of assigning accurate ICD‑10‑CM codes upon patient discharge (inpatient and outpatient), communicates with physicians for any related coding questions, and carries out the activities of the Health Information Services Department in the maintenance of all patient medical records. Qualifications Licensure/Certifications: RHIT, RHIA or CCS preferred and/or other coder specialist certifications. Education: Graduation from a medical records program preferred; high school graduate or equivalent required. Experience: At least one (1) to five (5) years of inpatient/outpatient coding and healthcare management/medical records experience preferred. At least one year of behavioral health hospital experience preferred but not required.
