In this role, you will lead a comprehensive review of approximately 1,600 active employee Form I-9 records, ensuring rigorous compliance with federal employment verification standards. Your expertise will help identify potential discrepancies, mitigate risks, and support remediation efforts to maintain the organization’s commitment to legal and regulatory adherence. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct a meticulous audit of active Form I-9 records for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with USCIS regulations.
- Review documentation for proper completion, adherence to timelines, and current regulatory requirements, including electronic I-9 processes.
- Identify errors, missing information, or potential compliance violations, documenting all findings thoroughly.
- Collaborate with Human Resources and Talent Management teams to address identified issues, support corrective actions, and ensure ongoing compliance.
- Stay informed about updates to I-9 regulations, policies, and enforcement guidance to ensure audits reflect the latest standards.
- Maintain detailed audit tracking records and prepare comprehensive reports summarizing findings, compliance status, and recommended next steps.
- Handle sensitive employee information with discretion, maintaining confidentiality throughout the audit process.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in conducting Form I-9 audits and employment verification reviews, with a strong understanding of federal regulations.
- In-depth knowledge of USCIS Form I-9 rules, recent regulatory changes, electronic I-9 systems, and documentation standards.
- Ability to interpret complex federal employment eligibility requirements, identify compliance gaps, and assess associated risks.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage a high-volume review process efficiently.
- Discretion and professionalism in handling confidential employee data.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Prior experience supporting HR compliance audits within large, regulated organizations.
