We are seeking an experienced Patient Account Specialist to join our growing healthcare team in Amherst, Massachusetts. This full-time, in-office position is ideal for an detail-oriented medical billing professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and is committed to providing exceptional support to patients, providers, and fellow team members. In this role, you will manage a variety of patient account and medical billing responsibilities while ensuring accurate claims processing, insurance compliance, and outstanding customer service. The position is primarily based in Amherst, with occasional coverage needed at our Northampton office. Schedule Full-Time | Monday–Friday | In-Office Responsibilities Process and manage medical billing and patient accounts accurately and efficiently. Verify insurance information and ensure compliance with payer requirements. Resolve billing inquiries and account discrepancies. Maintain accurate patient records within the electronic medical record system. Communicate professionally with patients, insurance companies, providers, and staff. Prioritize daily workflow while meeting productivity and quality expectations. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and organizational policies. One hour lunch break Requirements Minimum of 1+ years of medical billing experience. Strong knowledge of medical billing processes and insurance requirements. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and electronic medical record systems (eClinicalWorks/ECW preferred).
