Position Summary The Health Information Services Coder/Abstractor participates as an integral member of the Health Information Services team by ensuring the quality maintenance of patient information within laws, rules and regulations of federal and state licensing agencies, and The Joint Commission standards for the quality of patient care. The Coder/Abstractor has primary responsibility of abstracting information from the patient’s record and assigning accurate ICD-10 codes upon patient discharge. Experience: Minimum of one year experience in healthcare management/health information or clerical field preferred that includes ICD-10 coding. Additional Information: In-house position. No remote access.
