Our focus is on providing our patients with advanced, non‑opioid based therapies for the improvement of their pain conditions. We are seeking an Medical Biller and Coder who is a reliable, experienced, energetic team‑player with exceptional customer service skills, capable of providing an outstanding patient experience.

General Summary of Duties
We are seeking an efficient and detail‑oriented Medical Biller and Coder to join our growing organization. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively both independently and in a team‑oriented environment, and will be responsible for accurately and efficiently billing insurance companies for various medical procedures. The right candidate will also be able to handle multiple patients simultaneously, analyze patient charges on an ongoing basis, track and ensure reimbursements, and carefully monitor coding trends to ensure that they are done in an accurate manner.
Properly code services, procedures, diagnoses, and treatments
Prepare and send invoices or claims for payment
Correct rejected claims
Track payments
Follow up with patients and insurance companies about outstanding bills
Accurately verify patient insurance coverage
Ensure necessary office visits and procedures are covered by the insurance provider for multiple facility locations (ASC, Hospital, and offices)
Demonstrate proficiency in working with insurance companies and have extensive knowledge of different types of coverages and policies
Demonstrate excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to work on many projects at once
Maintain accurate patient insurance records
Process patient insurance claims in a timely manner
Utilize problem‑solving skills in verifying information recorded in the clinic financial system
Use good judgment in contacting the patient for discovered unforeseen issues (e.g., anticipated procedure not covered, large co‑pay or co‑insurance, patient’s insurance premium was not paid)
Have a clear and strong understanding of in‑network and out‑of‑network insurance benefits and how they work with payers, along with deductibles, co‑pays, and co‑insurance
Navigate the medical record system to code and bill procedures/visits, post payments, and track reimbursements
Communicate effectively throughout the billing and reimbursement process
Maintain and adhere to the company’s OSHA, HIPAA, and compliance regulations

Education
High school or equivalent required. College‑level courses preferred.
Requirements
Medical billing and coding: 4 years
Electronic medical records system: 1 year (preferably eClinicalWorks)
Working knowledge of medical terminology, insurance terminology, ICD‑10 and CPT codes, especially as they pertain to pain medicine
Thorough understanding of medical office workflow
Minimum of high school diploma or GED certificate
Reliable transportation and punctuality a must!
