#139991 HIM Coder I (SP) - Remote

DESCRIPTION
Under general direction of the Coding Manager and according to established procedures, this position assigns ICD and CPT codes for patients receiving ancillary and surgical services at the UCSD Health System. Responsibilities include coding all aspects of Interventional Radiology as well as other radiology modalities, resolving edits, and performing Single Path Coding within EPIC. The role requires comprehensive knowledge of interventional radiology CPT codes and certification CIRCC.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Completed AHIMA or AAPC accredited coding program and hold a CPC, RHIT, or RHIA certification.
Maintain credentials through regular continuing education.
At least 3 years professional surgical case coding experience and 6 months of outpatient ancillary/surgical coding.
Proficient with computer systems and related software.
Experience coding professional surgical cases and facility outpatient ancillary/surgical records.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
CIRCC Certification.
At least 3 years professional interventional radiology procedural case coding experience and 6 months of outpatient ancillary/surgical coding.
Experience coding interventional radiology procedural cases and facility outpatient ancillary/surgical records.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre‑employment physical.
Misconduct Disclosure Requirement: Final candidate must disclose any final administrative or judicial decisions within the last seven years involving misconduct or an appeal of a finding of substantiated misconduct.
PAY
Annual Full Pay Range: $81,599 – $101,519 (pro-rated for part‑time). Hourly Equivalent: $39.08 – $48.62. Compensation is based on experience, skills, education, licensure and certifications.
