Department H4021: Revenue Management - Coding & Documentation Position Details Requisition Number: RE54791 Grade Level: 07 Salary Range: $17.50-27.31/hour Type: Staff Employment Status: Full-Time Work Location: Lexington, KY Shift: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Requirements Required Education: AA Required Experience: 1 year Required Certifications: Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Professional Coder–Apprentice (CPC‑A), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Certified Coding Associate (CCA) Preferred: Associate degree and at least one year of paid, full‑time medical coding experience Physical Requirements This position requires regularly sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods; performing repetitive typing; and occasionally standing or walking with objects up to 10 pounds. Some travel (less than 10% of time) may be involved. Job Summary The Professional Coding team is seeking a Coder Associate to provide standardization, quality, expertise, and customer service focus in the UK Healthcare system. Responsibilities include performing highly technical professional billing and coding, correlating multi‑specialty coding, ensuring adherence to regulatory guidelines, maintaining customer relationships, providing cross‑coverage, and managing CEU credits. The role requires prolonged computer use and a fast‑paced environment, and the candidate must communicate effectively with patients and customers. Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Attention to detail, accuracy, and time management Knowledge of CPT and ICD‑10, coding and billing software, HIPAA, and regulatory compliance Additional Information Does not have supervisory responsibilities.
