Job Summary Coding Specialists are an important part of the Team at CorroHealth. The Coding Team Member will provide CPT, HCPCS and ICD-10-CM coding for Outpatient diagnostic and ancillary specialties. Must have 2–3 years of paid work experience coding outpatient diagnostic and ancillary charts and be able to work from home independently with strong coding skills.
Responsibilities Provide various components of coding services to support our clients.
Calculate ProFee and/or Facility E/M levels using the company’s algorithm.
Recognize critical care cases by patient acuity.
Code surgical procedures typical of an ER setting to capture additional revenue when appropriate.
Apply ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes to the highest level of specificity available.
Accurately apply diagnosis and procedure codes utilizing ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT®, and HCPCS.
Interpret coding guidelines for accurate code assignment.
Identify the importance of documentation on code assignment and the subsequent reimbursement impact.
Align conduct with AHIMA’s Standards of Ethical Coding and the Company’s Code of Ethics and Business Conduct and support the Ethics and Compliance Program.
Comply with all internal policies and procedures.
Actively participate in company‑provided training and education.
Maintain at least one credential through either AAPC or AHIMA.
Ensure compliance with all privacy and security rules and regulations, protecting all confidential information, including Personal Health Information.
May perform other duties as assigned by Leadership.
Qualifications & Requirements All coders must be certified through either the AAPC (CPC or COC) or AHIMA (CCS or CCS-P); CCA and CPC-A are not accepted.
Minimum of 2 years of on‑the‑job coding experience.
Regular, predictable, and punctual attendance required.
Working knowledge and experience with systems such as EMR and billing applications.
Phone, reliable internet connection, and current coding reference materials (CPT and ICD-10-CM).
Maintain a productivity level and accuracy rate of 95% or higher.
Maintain a quality score of 95% or higher.
Proficient in Microsoft programs such as Excel and Outlook (basic formulas, spreadsheet editing, email management).
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Strong coordination, analytical, observational, decision‑making, and deadline‑meeting abilities.
Work from home capability with independent coding expertise.
Physical Demands Reasonable accommodations can be made to enable individuals with disabilities.

Ability to work at a computer terminal for 6–8 hours a day in an environment with constant interruptions.
Prolonged sitting periods may occur.
