Coder Associate – UKHC Department : H4021: Revenue Management – Coding & Documentation Location : Lexington, KY Salary : $17.50–27.31 per hour Position Type : Full‑Time Staff (Grade Level 07) Shift : Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (additional days/times as needed) Job Summary The Professional Coding team seeks a Coder Associate to provide high standardization, quality, and customer‑service focus within the UK Healthcare system. Responsibilities include performing highly technical professional billing and coding, correlating multispecialty coding, ensuring compliance with all regulatory guidelines, and maintaining strong relationships with customers and cross‑coverage. Responsibilities Accurately perform professional billing and coding for medical records Correlate multispecialty coding and ensure regulatory compliance (CPT, ICD‑10, HIPAA) Maintain ongoing CEU credits to keep credentials current Communicate effectively with patients, vendors, physicians, and university personnel Provide cross‑coverage and maintain excellent working relationships with customers Required Qualifications Associate degree (AA) or higher Minimum 1 year of paid, full‑time medical coding experience Certification: Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), CPC‑Apprentice, Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or Certified Coding Associate (CCA) Strong attention to detail, time management, and knowledge of CPT, ICD‑10, coding/software, HIPAA, and regulatory requirements Ability to sit at a computer for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs on occasion No supervisory responsibilities Preferred Qualifications Associate degree and at least one year of paid, full‑time medical coding experience (preferred) Application Deadline 06/11/2026 Equal Opportunity Employer The University follows federal and state laws on nondiscrimination and provides equal opportunities for all qualified persons.
