Hiring both Orthopedic Surgery Coder and Urology Surgery Coder Required Skills & Experience 3+ years of medical coding experience 5+ years of orthopedic urology or surgical specialty coding experience Active certification: CPC or CCS-P Strong surgical coding background Experience with Cerner, Athena, IDX, or Centricity (GE) Knowledge of medical necessity, LCDs, and claims workflows Comfortable communicating with physicians Basic Excel skills (save, filter, hide columns) Experience working remotely Job Description Insight Global is looking for an Orthopedic Surgery Coder. This person will primarily be responsible for reviewing and abstracting orthopedic surgical cases, handling a high volume of complex procedures at an expected rate of approximately 8 surgeries per hour. They will assign CPT, ICD-10, and modifiers while validating diagnoses, medical necessity, and LCD requirements. The coder will work through 10–12 edits per hour, ensuring claims are accurate before submission. Daily responsibilities also include returning charges to providers with clear documentation, supporting minimal denials work, and collaborating with physicians to clarify surgical documentation when needed. $30-$33/hr Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
