Job SummaryWe are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Medical Billing Specialist to join our healthcare administration team.The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of medical billing processes, coding systems, and insurance procedures.As a Medical Billing Specialist, you will be responsible for accurately processing claims, managing patient accounts, and ensuring timely reimbursement while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations.Your expertise will contribute to the efficient financial operations of our healthcare facility and support high-quality patient care.Duties Prepare and submit accurate medical claims using appropriate coding systems such as CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10, and DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) classifications.Review medical records and documentation to ensure proper coding and billing accuracy.Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through medical collection efforts and communicate with insurance providers to resolve discrepancies.Maintain detailed records of billing activities within Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility prior to billing procedures.Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, including proper handling of sensitive medical records and adherence to privacy standards.Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify billing details and resolve billing issues promptly.Stay updated on changes in medical coding standards, insurance policies, and billing regulations to ensure ongoing compliance.Requirements Proven experience in medical billing, medical coding, or healthcare administration within a clinical or hospital setting.Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and coding systems such as CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10, ICD coding, DRG classifications, and EHR systems.Familiarity with medical billing software and EMR/EHR platforms used in healthcare facilities.Understanding of insurance processes, including pre-authorizations, claim submissions, denials management, and collections.Excellent attention to detail with the ability to accurately interpret complex medical documentation.Effective communication skills for liaising with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and patients.Prior experience in medical office environments is preferred but not mandatory; relevant training or certification is advantageous.Knowledge of healthcare compliance standards related to privacy and security of medical information.Join our team as a Medical Billing Specialist to ensure seamless financial operations that support exceptional patient care through precise billing practices!
