Job Title: Inpatient Medical Coder Location (city, state): Remote Industry: Healthcare / Medical Coding Pay: $30 – $40/hour (based on experience) Benefits: This position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k). About Our Client: Our client is a healthcare organization focused on delivering accurate and compliant coding practices to support revenue cycle operations and quality patient care. Job Description: We are seeking a skilled Inpatient Medical Coder responsible for reviewing and assigning accurate diagnostic and procedural codes for inpatient medical records. This role requires strong knowledge of coding guidelines, reimbursement methodologies, and a high level of attention to detail to ensure compliance and accuracy. Key Responsibilities: Review inpatient medical records and assign appropriate ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes Accurately assign and validate DRGs (Diagnosis-Related Groups) Ensure compliance with federal regulations, payer guidelines, and organizational policies Maintain productivity and quality standards set by the client Collaborate with CDI and revenue cycle teams as needed Qualifications: Minimum requirement of an Active AHIMA certification, such as a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) A minimum of 3 - 5+ years of active experience, coding Inpatient charts, in a Hospital setting is required Current or previous experience coding for different types of hospitals: Level I Trauma, Academic hospitals, and acute care Hospitals. Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and DRG assignment is required A minimum of 2-3 years of experience working in a remote setting A minimum of 2+ years of experience Coding Inpatient records, while being held to Accuracy and Production standards, is required.
