About the role Join our team as an Associate Director, Medical Content and be a strategic partner within the US Medical Content Hub, responsible for the development and execution of the medical content strategy across the dermatology and rheumatology therapeutic area. This role partners extensively with internal stakeholders across the organization and also liaises with external vendors to support delivery of assigned assets. This role might require travelling to various professional meetings, conferences, and client sites – limited overnight. Some international travel may be required. How You Will Contribute Actively involved in strategic planning and execution of content generation that supports Scientific Training and Field Medical and other externally facing resources. Operate with a high degree of independence while staying closely aligned with the Director, Medical Content, and broader Medical objectives and strategy. Contribute to agile planning, development, and implementation of medical communication and scientific training plans and content generation for assigned brands and/or pipeline therapies. Maintain in-depth knowledge of medical communications trends and materials (e.g., scientific platforms, core slide decks, scientific communication plans, digital communication plans) and independently drive updates/revisions to these materials. Drive the design and development of scientific and disease/product training content for US Medical teams, including MSLs and other internal stakeholders, aligned with Takeda business rules and applicable processes. Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop content that reflects the latest scientific data and aligns with Medical objectives and strategy. Regularly update content to incorporate advancements in Takeda’s therapeutic areas and products. Develop innovative training content channels to support different learner preferences. Monitor learning outcomes through assessments and evaluations to ensure program effectiveness. Utilize AI and digital-enabled approaches to support efficiency. Manage delivery so assigned medical communications and scientific training projects remain on strategy, within budget, and on time. Partner cross-functionally to align training with organizational objectives. Maintain strong communication channels to meet the scientific training and medical content needs of stakeholders. What You Bring to Takeda Advanced degree (e.g., MPH, MS, PhD, MD, or PharmD) in a biosciences discipline. 4+ years of related experience at a pharmaceutical company or a medical communications agency. 3+ years in Medical Affairs, including roles in a medical communications function. Proven experience leading individuals and cross-functional teams. Track record implementing medical communications and congress programs, including omnichannel communication and digital channels/tools. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to work across diverse therapeutic areas. Experience with budget management, resource allocation, vendor management. Demonstrated experience applying digital technologies and AI tools (e.g., generative AI, data analytics, visualization) to enhance medical communications strategy, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive change. Experience with Articulate (e.g., RISE, 360) and Veeva Systems (e.g., Vault, PromoMats). Understanding of pharmaceutical clinical development and product life-cycle management. Strong experience writing scientific communication decks, reports, and materials for educational activities. Ability to interpret medical/scientific data, develop strategic messaging, and demonstrate knowledge of pharmaceutical standards, compliance, and regulations. Compensation and Benefits Summary Location: Lexington, MA U.S. Base Salary Range: $169,400.00 - $266,200.00 The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
