This is a Coder III–level position. The Coder III is responsible for researching, reviewing, interpreting, and processing Interventional Radiology (IR), Vascular, and Neurosurgery coding and billing charges. This role supports all coding functions for the IR, Vascular, and Neurosurgery departments and will communicate regularly via email and messaging with clinic staff to ensure compliant, accurate, and appropriate coding practices. Job Responsibilities Perform charge capture, apply diagnoses and modifiers, and demonstrate understanding of NCCI edits or other applicable regulatory requirements. Maintain coding knowledge and billing regulations associated with CPT and ICD-10 codes and modifiers. Consult with Coding Managers on any edit discrepancies. Demonstrate ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Complete assigned work functions utilizing appropriate resources. Participate in client and staff meetings, trainings, and conference calls as requested and/or required. Participate in continuing education activities to enhance knowledge, skills, and maintain current credentials. Maintain a 95% coding accuracy rate and meet client's productivity standards. Minimum Requirements 5+ years professional coding experience in a large academic medical setting. Experience in coding professional Interventional Radiology services. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and pathophysiology. Active AAPC (American Academy of Professional Coders) CIRCC, COC, CPC or Active AHIMA (American Health Information Management Association) CCS at the time of hire. Extreme attention to detail with the ability to prioritize assignments to meet deadlines. Strong knowledge of EPIC, Microsoft Office, and TEAMS. Excellent interpersonal and problem‑solving skills with all levels of internal and external customers. Proficient in teaching facility guidelines. Compensation The hourly range for this role is from $27.00 to $35.00. Specific compensation will vary within this range based on geographic location, candidate experience, certifications, and skills.
