Responsibilities The CDS Supervisor is responsible for the implementation and improvement of the clinical documentation improvement program at the facility and supervises clinical documentation specialists (CDS). Ensures CDS perform their designated tasks synergistically with other concerned departments and personnel. Work closely with the Director of CDI/Data Quality, CDS Manager and/or CDS Supervisor, Supervisor of Health Information Department, and Director/ Supervisor of Case Management to be instrumental in supplementing assistance to these departmental functions pertaining to clinical documentation.  CDS Supervisor will work closely with the medical staff to formulate strategies to improve the quality of clinical documentation.
