Job Description Job Summary: Responsible for accurately coding medical records within an acute care environment, ensuring compliance with CMS and payor guidelines to support proper reimbursement and record-keeping. Responsibilities: Assign appropriate ICD-10-CM, CPT-4, and Encoder codes based on clinical documentation. Review medical records for completeness and accuracy to ensure proper coding. Research complex coding issues to ensure proper application of guidelines. Train and mentor staff on coding standards and software applications. Collaborate with clinical staff to clarify documentation when necessary. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding guidelines, payor policies, and industry regulations.
