Description Location : Monticello, Illinois Shift : Day shift Schedule : M-F 40 hours Job Summary : Responsible for the conversion of diagnoses and treatment procedures in accordance with the rules, regulations and coding conventions as established by the American Hospital Association (Coding Clinic), ICD-10-CM, CMS, AHIMA, and Kirby Medical Center organizational/institutional coding guidelines. Under the direction of the lead coding manager, the coder will perform all tasks and duties in accordance with established standards, policies, procedures, protocols, and guidelines using classification of diseases. Requires skill in the sequencing of diagnoses/procedures to meet medical necessity requirements. Ensures that records are coded in an accurate and timely manner. Participates in the department’s performance improvement activities.
