Department: Health Information Management Compensation Position Summary: Responsible for accurate, compliant coding of inpatient, outpatient, and professional medical records to support reimbursement, reporting, utilization, and quality initiatives. Key Responsibilities: Review and abstract medical records and assign accurate ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, and HCPCS codes. Perform inpatient coding, MS-DRG classification , and outpatient/professional coding. Research coding guidelines and review documentation for completeness and accuracy. Identify coding discrepancies, run queries, review denials, and recommend improvements. Maintain established quality, accuracy, productivity, and confidentiality standards. Utilize 3M 360/CAC, EHR/EMR, and other coding systems . Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. 2+ years outpatient coding or 3+ years inpatient acute-care coding experience.
