Job Title: Remote Rural Health Clinic (RHC) Coder
Job Summary:
A highly skilled and detail-oriented Remote RHC Coder is needed for accurate coding and review of patient encounters in a Rural Health Clinic, ensuring compliance with guidelines and regulations. This role requires strong coding expertise, understanding of RHC billing rules, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment. 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Accurately code and review RHC patient encounters.
  • Ensure compliance with RHC billing rules, including Medicare Qualifying Visits and CG modifier usage.
  • Meet productivity benchmarks.
  • Participate in CPSI workflows.
  • Collaborate with coders and leadership via Microsoft Teams.
  • Attend initial training.
  • Maintain accurate medical records.
  • Resolve coding edits.
  • Stay updated on coding guidelines.
  • Communicate with providers to clarify documentation. 
Qualifications:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: Verifiable experience in Rural Health Clinic coding required. Minimum 2 years medical coding experience preferred. Experience with complex case mix preferred.
  • Certification: Certified Medical Coder (CPC, CCS, RHIT, or equivalent) required.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of RHC billing rules, knowledge of coding conventions, proficiency in EPIC and 3M preferred and Microsoft Office, excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
  • Technical Requirements: Reliable high-speed internet and a home computer with a current Windows OS. 
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to work in a sitting position using a computer and telephone for prolonged periods. 
Work Environment:
  • Remote position from a private office space at home.
