Essential Duties and Job Functions: Accurately code medical procedures and diagnoses. Review clinical documentation and records to ensure the correct codes are applied. Ensure codes are assigned following industry regulations and guidelines. Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies and other payers. Monitor and follow up on unpaid claims, rejections, and denials to ensure timely reimbursement. Resolve billing issues and discrepancies with insurance companies and patients. Participate in audits and reviews to maintain coding accuracy and compliance. Other duties as assigned. Education/Experience: Certification as a Professional Coder (CPC) through AAPC or AHIMA, is required. Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing and coding, preferably in an FQHC establishment. Proficiency in coding systems Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
