Summary/ObjectiveThe medical biller is responsible for billing and coding noncomplex therapy/office visits according to ICD-10 and CPT4 principles and conventions in order to obtain reimbursement from insurance companies and government healthcare programs, such as Medicare. Has an understanding and can interpret explanation of benefits, accepts payments, data entry, and identifies paper claim requirements. Audits and reviews EOB's to ensure payer reimbursement is accurate. Maintains open communication with medical staff and performs other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications:1. High school diploma or equivalent required.2. Medical Terminology required.3. Certificate or associate's degree in medical coding or a related field4. Efficient in the use of standard office equipment, data entry, typing, 10-key skills, and alpha/numerical filing.
