Description Coder will be responsible for assigning diagnostic/procedural codes to patient charts of high complexity using ICD-10-CM, CPT and HCPCS or any other designated coding classification system in accordance with coding rules and regulations. Coder will respond to audits, conduct coding/provides consultation on specific projects. Responsibilities : • Assign ICD10 CM Diagnosis Codes and ICD 10 PCS Procedure Codes for assigned accounts. • IP/OP edits • Select and sequence principal and secondary diagnosis and procedure codes. • Assign appropriate DRG. • Review the medical record and all applicable documentation to determine the appropriate codes to assign for the services and diagnoses. • Demonstrates ability to achieve accuracy and consistency in abstracting elements defined by per facility. • Maintain productivity standards, tracking and deadlines. • Maintain and complete accurate productivity and tracking logs. • May act as a mentor to training coders and/or...
