Associates in Resource Management (ARM) has been part of the Louisville, Kentucky & Southern Indiana community for over 20 years in the medical billing, coding, AR analysis and recovery, provider credentialing and enrollment, consulting and chart auditing arena.
Due to growth and expansion into other regions of Kentucky and other states we have immediate openings for an experienced AR follow up specialist.
The Accounts Receivable Follow Up Specialist performs complex task related duties with regard to the management of denied claims from various payers.
- Full time Monday - Friday 8am - 4:30pm
- This is a desk position in an office setting
Responsibilities:
- Review claim information to determine if the proper payer guidelines were met when a claim was originally submitted in an effort to determine if further review may be required by coding or other departments
- Once claim follow-up has been conducted resubmit claims to the correct payer with corrections or complete the appeals process if an appeal is necessary
- Verify payer information to ensure proper coding guidelines were met and correct if necessary
- Effective communication skills with insurance companies, supervisors, and co-workers to maintain updated knowledge pertaining to outstanding payer/collection/credentialing concerns
- Access multiple electronic databases to verify, update claim information and then resubmit claims for reimbursement
- Ability to recognize denial and remark codes on electronic remits (EOB's) to determine next step in resubmission process
- Complete various special projects requested by supervisors and management team
- Document clearly and effectively so that good Quality and Production Standards are met and maintained
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED required
- Minimum 2 years experience as a biller and/or coder required; certification a plus
- AR follow up experience required
- Knowledge of Epic, ECW, NexGen, OP, and/or Intergy
- Experience using multiple clearinghouses
- Experience and ability to use multiple Payer Websites and systems like Availity
- Strong customer service and communication skills both orally and written
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Ability to be detailed oriented when required
- Common and general knowledge of EOB's, CPT's, ICD-10 & HCPCS
- Ability to multi-task and handle deadlines for projects as they arise
- Works well with co-workers and supervisors to maintain ongoing education updates to ensure Quality and Productivity goals
