The Inpatient Rehab Hospital Coder works from home and is responsible for identifying correct coding and sequencing of ICD-10-CM diagnosis and comorbidity codes on the claim form and IRF-PAI for the Hospital's inpatient population. Responsibilities Ensures that documentation to substantiate code assignment is present in the medical record Completes coding and abstracting of inpatient medical records in accordance with ICD-10 CM coding rules and guidelines Queries physicians when documentation is unclear for coding purposes Enters codes into the medical record and outcome system to ensure IRF-PAI and claim will submit timely.
