A healthcare staffing agency is seeking an experienced medical coder in New York, NY. The ideal candidate will have CCS or CCP certification, a minimum of 4 years experience in Emergency Department coding, and knowledge of coding systems such as ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT-4. This role involves performing medical coding in an acute care setting and requires strong communication skills for effective interaction with Clinical Documentation Specialists. Schedule: 8:00 AM-4:00 PM, 1–2 weeks onsite training at the start, then hybrid/remote Qualifications Must have CCS or CCP certification from AHIMA, RHIA, or RHIT Must have EPIC and 3M experience Minimum 4 years of ED (Emergency Department) Coding experience Ideal candidate has both Inpatient and Outpatient Coding experience Previous experience working with Clinical Documentation Specialists Description Medical coding in an acute care setting Utilize coding systems and tools, including ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT-4, and encoder software Knowledge of coding guidelines, payor guidelines, federal billing guidelines Knowledge of anatomy, physiology & disease processes Ability to research coding related issues Competence in coder training HirePower Personnel, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
