Job Summary (List Format): - Performs medical billing and collection activities for assigned patient accounts. - Reviews, corrects, and submits claims to payers using billing knowledge and experience. - Communicates with patients, government agencies, and third-party payers to gather, process, and record information for reimbursement. - Reviews unpaid accounts and initiates corrective actions for collections. - Follows up on accounts to ensure collections are completed; initiates actions for past due and denied claims. - Calculates and processes write-offs, debit, and credit adjustments as needed. - Posts insurance and personal payments accurately to patient accounts. - Calculates, verifies, and posts contractual adjustments to accounts. - Meets or exceeds productivity and quality performance expectations. - Performs other related duties as assigned.
