Overview Sentara Obici Hospital is hiring a Supervisor, Nursing and Patient Care Services to join our medical surgical team. This is a full‑time, second shift role in Suffolk, VA. Hours/Days: 5 PM to 3 AM Monday‑Thursday on Week 1, 5 PM to 3 AM Tuesday‑Friday on Week 2. Areas this role will support The Medical‑Surgical Unit at Sentara Obici Hospital is a 21‑bed unit with an RN‑to‑patient ratio of 1:5 or 1:6. PCTs assist with an average of 10 or 11 patients. The 1 East Surgery Unit is a 24‑bed unit specializing in orthopedics, spine and bariatrics, designed to provide high‑quality, short‑stay care. The team also sees high acuity surgical patients from Endoscopy, General surgery and GI. Average patient stay is 1 to 2 days. RN staff can expect a 1:5 or 1:6 ratio and an average of 6 to 8 patient discharges per shift.
