In this role, you will handle collection of outstanding assigned accounts receivable from the time of admission through discharge for patients receiving Outpatient Substance Abuse services at one of our nine outpatient clinics. Duties include performing follow-up with insurance companies, validation of payments, communicating with staff at the outpatient clinics to ensure self-pay balances are accurate and collected. You will be responsible for the review of all new Intakes for Conifer Park and Arms Acres outpatient clinics for your assigned AR to ensure a clean claim is billed. Salary Range: $21.22-$30.77/hour Basic Function: The Medical Coder III reviews inpatient, Same Day Surgery, Clinic and Emergency Room Records for diagnoses and procedures and assigns the appropriate ICD-9-CM and CPT-4 codes. This includes completion of the coding sheet generated from out of the ENCoder product and interacting with the medical staff. Responsible for accurate discharge data abstracts; and the correction of SPARCS data. Participates in on-going in-service education as well as annual inpatient and outpatient coding educational sessions. Responsible for the correct DRG assignment including processes SMART reviews daily. Abstracts information such as, congenital malformation registry cards and Alzheimer's disease reports.
