The audit process consists of reviewing documentation in the patient's record regarding orders, medications, supplies used and procedures performed and ensuring that all have been charged appropriately. Makes adjustments to the patient's account either adding or removing charges as supported by documentation. Conducts education sessions one on one or with groups to improve charging accuracy. Performs chart audits in a timely and accurate manner. Records existing charging weaknesses and notifies internal department of deficiencies and trends.
