Medical Coder Status: Per Diem - Non-Exempt Reports to: HIM Manager Purpose/Distinguishing Characteristics The purpose of this position is to apply the appropriate diagnostic and procedural codes to individual protected health information for data retrieval, analysis, and claims processing. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of clinical coding, validating the information in the databases for outcomes management and specialty registries, and performing clinical research across the entire integrated healthcare system.
