Job Description The Medical Biller will process and follow up on Medicare and Medicaid billing, review remittance advice forms to verify proper reimbursement, and adjust as necessary. Duties/Responsibilities: * Checks to ensure that the records for patients include all information required for reimbursement. * Verifies correct coding to ensure prompt payment. * Inputs correct billing information and transmit it electronically to the Medicare/Medicaid carrier. * Consult with claim clerks in the Medicare/Medicaid office about any disputed claims and follows up on all bills not processed within the usual claim period. * Reviews remittance advice forms to determine any adjustments made to bills as submitted and consults with the Medicare/Medicaid office. * Prepares weekly and monthly reports of billing for management. * Attends training to keep abreast of changes in Medicare and Medicaid billing procedures.
