Position Summary: Responsible for complete and accurate coding and abstracting data for all clinic patients. Knowledgeable in all coding principles of ICD-10 and CPT. Follows all Clinic, State, and Federal guidelines for appropriate assignment of codes. Performs operational duties related to patient billing. Works with clinic personnel and insurance companies to resolve billing issues. Minimum Qualifications: Ability to meet minimum clinic/hospital hiring standards. Maintain current licensure - Certified Professional Coder (CPC) Two (2) plus years coding experience preferred. Medical Terminology, Anatomy and Physiology courses required. Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT. Knowledge of computerized encoder systems helpful. Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and general health billing experience required.
