Job Description SUMMARY Support daily functions within the Patient Accounts department ensuring accurate and timely billing and posting of insurance and patient payments. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following: Initial review of encounter forms Review encounters for completeness and accuracy Communicate inaccuracies to other departments within LCHC as necessary Encounter tracking; both in‑coming and outgoing Charge entry of encounter forms Review end of day reports for corrections Post insurance and patient payments on a timely basis Prepare and process manual insurance claims Respond to patient inquiries and direct to appropriate personnel as necessary Provide patients with insurance benefit interpretations Prepare, review and send patient statements Evaluate patient's financial status and establish budget payment plans; follow and report status of delinquent accounts Review accounts for possible assignment and make recommendations to...
