Clinical Laboratory Supervisor The Medical Laboratory Supervisor ensures the smooth, efficient operation of a clinical laboratory unit or shift. Performs clinical laboratory analyses on biological specimens to provide information used in the diagnosis, prevention or treatment of disease. Many of these procedures involve numerous highly complex tests and techniques that require the use of professional judgment. This position will have responsibility for leading other laboratory professionals and continuously interacting and consulting with section management and other allied health care professionals. Major Responsibilities/Activities Maintain current knowledge of CPT, HCPCS and ICD coding systems, including the appropriate application of procedure code modifiers and NCCI edits. Maintain current knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and all other third-party payer regulatory and compliance guidelines with regard to coding and claim submission for professional medical services. Gathering and organizing all necessary data from physicians, hospitals and other personnel to ensure accurate and timely submission of claims submitted to third-party payers.
