Penn State Health Shared Services Location: US:PA:Hershey Work Type: Full Time FTE: 1.0 Shift: Days Hours: Eight (8) hours JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the analysis of medical records and assignment of accurate ICD9CM and/or ICD10CM/PCS diagnostic and procedural codes, as well as CPT-4 procedural codes, for all inpatient, short stay, and observation services to assure accurate hospital re-imbursement. Work with physicians, administrative and financial staff as required assuring valid code assignments and/or clarification for timely billing. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma required. Either: (A) Associate's Degree in Health Information Technology or Nursing or (B) Successful completion of a coding certificate program required. Eligible for certification (RHIT or CCS) required.
