Overview: Coders will need to build a good relationship with the providers, have really in depth knowledge of continuum of care/CMS guidelines, and be able to communicate the official source coding guidelines to providers. The complex surgeries really across all sub-specialties within Ortho, including spine, trauma, sports medicine, ENT, podiatry, etc. Credentials: CPC (required), COSC (Preferred), Have to have coded a minimum of five years of complex ortho coding with their most recent employer. 3-5 Must Have Skills/Qualifications - 5+ Years of Coding Complex Ortho Surgery Experience - CPC Certification - Expertise in Complex Surgery Coding - Able to Cite Official Sources (IE: CMS) for their Codes Schedule/Shift Monday - Friday, Between 7A to 7P (40 hours per week)
