Job Description This position is accountable for oversight of patient care delivery during assigned shifts. This RN makes rounds to the nursing units and support departments, collaborates with staff to solve clinical and staffing issues, addresses and documents practice variations and staff non-compliance to all VH policies. Nursing metrics are assessed and staff coached/mentored to improve outcomes when deficits are identified. This RN also serves as a patient advocate, communicates with support departments as appropriate to resolve issues. This RN supervises operations of all departments in the absence of the Department supervisor. Following the chain of command, communicates appropriate issues to AOC, Hospital Leadership, and Ancillary Departments. This is a safety sensitive position.
